Gary Vet- Teaching Pastor
Gary grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio where in 1980 he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Just before heading to a university to pursue pre-law, he attended a leadership conference for teens at a Bible college where he felt called of God to serve Him in a full-time capacity. It was at this same school, Baptist Bible College, that he and Martha met. He began his post graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary but returned to Pennsylvania after one year to marry Martha. They were married in 1987. Gary completed his MDiv and ThM at Baptist Bible Seminary and his Doctorate of Ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Gary and Martha have two sons, Ryan (16) and Tyler (13). Martha works as a registered nurse at Cary Skin Center Cary.
After sixteen years in the Chicago area (fifteen in pastoral ministry), the Vets moved to Cary in July '06 to help launch Northwest Community Church. The warmer climate and Carolina blue skies have helped make this transition from friends a bit easier. Together they are excited to see people’s lives transformed by a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.
